View inside function centre

Quyen and I had our tasting with the new Chef at City Beach Function Centre on Saturday. It went down an absolute treat - as seen by the empty plates in the photo.

The chef cooked us a couple of dishes from our chosen menu and they were more than impressive! The room was all decked out for a wedding that evening.

This is the view from the function centre on our wedding night. Isn't it beautiful!!?!! Mind you, it will be night time so there will be darkness. However, it will still be damn good, right?

Photo site #2

This is another of the many suggestions by Pippin. This one is probably a little plain for us, but still portrays the effect Quyen and I after. This type of look is fantastic in Black and White and is what we are looking for. This building is located on Crown Street, just near two service stations.

Potential photo site #1

Our photographer Pippin just has the most awesome ideas for photo places. There are so many places that are cliche for photos on a wedding day. Pippin, however, has suggested some different places, keeping in mind Quyen and my ideas on how we want to be portrayed on our wedding day.

This is an old, run-down house in Wollongong - just near Smith's Hill High School. It is sitting on top of a hill and faces West - capturing the light in Winter beautifully for our photos.

Harrys turn!

After months and months of waiting, it was finally Harry's turn for the attention. And lap it he did! We found Harry's suit at the Spurlings outlet in Wollongong...

He will look like a little me on the wedding day. Same suit, same vest, same tie! Cute! My sister, Rachel, came along with Winny and myself to help choose an outfit she was also happy with.

Thanks Rach!

Finding the boys outfits...

Spurlings

The time had finally come for the groomies and myself to choose our outfits for the wedding. On 16th April we headed off to Spurlings in Miranda.

Brett gave me a lift up from the Gong and I met Paul, Paulie and Ian there. In two hours we were all done and out of the shop. We have hired the suits and will pick them up a weeks before the wedding. The serice was fantastic, and the pricing was not too bad I suppose. A little bit on the pricey side, competitive all the same.

This photo is just the start. To see more photos, visit Ian's photo blog... the photos offer a selection of the different suits we tried on. However, THE suit that was chosen along with the exact pieces that we will be wearing on the day are not shown in the photos, so don't get too excited....

Groomies Camping Trip

OK, so it has been two weeks since the boys went camping and I have been slack in not posting the photos from the camping trip on the blog.. sorry!!! but, hey, after copping an absolute ribbing from eeeeean (aka Ian). Here they are now...
THe four of us headed down to the 'Royal National Park' South of Sydney and pitched a tent and had an absolute ball for the night. Fishing, BBQing, a couple of beers, and other fun events topped the weekend off.

One small incident to report though... I did the think that Paulie was in the car once we picked up the beer.. However, he only had one leg in the car, both hands full. I cleverly drove off.. and he went head over feet backward out of the car, catching his leg under the wheel. All worked out OK though. thank God! I didn't want to be the last man standing on the wedding day.

Check out the two lots of photos, the first thanks to IAN'S brilliant photo taking abilities with his Nokia phone.

You have seen photos of Harry and Sarah before on AWWB. However, this is the first photo we have of them together. This photo was taken at my Nanna's 90th birthday last weekend in Maitland, NSW. They both suit each other very well and are very excited about their big day...
Sorry 'bout the red eyes Sarah and Harry, but I didn't have a chance to do some editing on these ones.

Oh, and thanks to my Dad who kindly took and emailed me the photo.

Meet Michael.
Michael will be driving the second bridal car on our wedding day. Michael has been my flatmate for the past 15 months. He has turned out to be a fantastic friend and we have so much fun... it all has to come to an end though when he moves out in a few weeks from now to help Quyen and I do the final preparations for our special day. Michael is from Indonesia and has driven over there before. However, he has not driven in Australia since he arrived in 2000. He recently obtained his Leaners Licence and assured me that we will be in safe hands on our wedding day. Doesn't mean he is driving me around there. Whoever pulls in the short straw for that one Mic!

P.S. Michael is single... AND LOOKING. send him an email...

RSVP Ericksons

Mum and Dad are charged with receiving the RSVPs over the next month or so. The first RSVP to come via post was this one. It came from the Erickson family last week. Talk about quick off the mark. You will also notice that it bears a strikingly similar resemblance to the wedding invitations. The dried leaf, the lady-bug... all so matching...It is so exciting to receive the RSVPs now! It's great that at least four people will be attending the wedding.... PHEEEEWWWWW!!!

Bridesmaid Shoes

This is all we can reveal before the wedding of the bridesmaids outfits... these shoes are what each of the three Bridesmaids will be wearing on the day. Linda is in Adelaide - as mentioned before. We took this photo to send to her and had her search all over Adelaide for the same pair of shoes - we did of course give her the style codes and brand to make her search all the more easier. Which reminds me... I have not told the story of Linda's dress. It was purchased in Sydney - posted to Linda to have the necessary alterations made, then will be sent back to Wollongong to have beading and embroidery work completed on the dress - and will be proudly waiting in the wardrobe for Linda's arrival on the Thursday before the wedding...

Here it is! The main bridal car - the car that Mark will be driving. Yep, it's a Holden. Only the best for the best. We intend on hiring two cars for the day. The other two drivers have been decided, stay tuned as we reveal their identities exclusively here on AWB!

This dude is Mark Erickson. He will be driving the bridal car on our wedding day. Mark is the brother of my Groomsman, Paul. Quyen and I have become closer to Mark in recent years and are very proud to have him as our driver! We need to have a little chat with him about the uniform he intends on wearing. This one is a little too revealing.... hmmm...... the hat rocks though.
